About
Amber Digital got its start in a very dusty county clerk's office in Newark, as do most businesses in Essex County, NJ. But that's all ancient history, having happened in 1999. Aside from partying-like-it's, much has changed in the web world since then, and much has changed for the company. These days, Amber Digital is located in New York City, in the proprietor's studio.
Our top commitment is to make each project communicative, unique, and fun. In short, we recognize three core truths:
- Your site will gain popularity if people like it enough to link to it, and therefore being good — ie, providing useful information and services to the user, is the surest route to success.
- A consistent and appealing brand identity is critical to every organization, and raises the value of your product or service.
- The user expects an entertaining, responsive, and occasionally surprising web experience, and will refer other users
About Michael Condouris
Michael Condouris, the owner and proprietor, was born in New Jersey in 1975. He has an AB from Brown University for Modern Culture and Media Studies (MCM), a curious amalgam of French philosophy and watching cartoons which was endemic to the academy of the mid-nineties. He was taking computer science classes at the time, and one day in late 1993 a fellow student showed him a new program called NCSA Mosaic, which claimed to be an "browser" for something called the "World Wide Web". After a brief stint in cinema studies (MA, NYU, 1999) and management for technical support (c3i, Client Relationship Manager, 1999), he founded a hungry design and animation company, which brings us right up to the present. He enjoys biking, short walks on the beach, doesn't like movies about sports or animals, and absolutely hates talking about himself in the third person, but is rather comfortable with the regal first person plural.
